Support your technical staff members and increase your organization’s impact.

Many international non-profits want to invest in targeted professional development for their technical staff, but few have the time or ability to provide this support in-house.

Jon Viducich, PE

Civil Engineering Consultant

Hi, I’m Jon.

I’m a licensed civil engineer and adjunct university professor in California, USA, with over a decade of experience working cross-culturally on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) hardware implementation and research in low-income countries. I’ve worked on and managed nearly all aspects of projects—planning, design, construction, and hardware monitoring—so I appreciate the diverse challenges and realities faced by stakeholders. I recently left a WASH-focused non-profit, where I managed engineering, to help meet what I see as a growing need for many organizations: professional development and capacity building opportunities for technical staff and engineering leaders in low-resource contexts. I’d love to walk alongside your staff to improve the quality and efficiency of your work, saving you time and money while serving end users more effectively.

Testimonials

“Jon's technical expertise, analysis and recommendations have been invaluable to MCC Mozambique. During three consulting assignments in 2014, 2016 and 2017, Jon worked with partner staff to evaluate current sand dam construction and functionality, assess new sites and designs, and make recommendations. His focus throughout these assignments was on training and capacity building with local partner staff including construction supervisors, engineers and managers. Jon is an excellent trainer and mentor and works well cross-culturally. He is fluent in Portuguese and always respectful and relational even with challenging partners. He is a hard worker, very productive and aims to make the most of his time. His reports were detailed, complete and timely, usually turned in within days of completing the assignment. We continue to use the information, analysis and recommendations in all three of his reports as a reference.”

— Jana Meyer, Country Director, Mennonite Central Committee Mozambique

“Jon's cross-cultural relational abilities, love of teaching, technical strengths, and understanding of on-the-ground realities from years of working in diverse settings come together to make him an excellent coach. Jon is able to quickly diagnose needs and areas for improvement, thinking critically about a path forward. Jon always aims to help teams complete the task at hand with excellence while also taking time to explain and teach for the future, helping individuals and teams grow. I always had confidence that the individuals and teams working with Jon would grow, and that projects would be completed with excellence. ”

— Pamela Crane-Hoover, PhD, Vice President of Programs, Lifewater International

“I'm very pleased to recommend Jon Viducich as one of the best international professional engineers I know. I worked alongside Jon at Lifewater International for two years, where he managed engineering across the organization but still invested in me as an individual. I was continually impressed by Jon’s attention to detail, the quality of his work, and his focus on results. While at Lifewater, Jon developed resources like a borehole test pump analysis tool, water quality testing resources, and technical hardware standards with consultation from the Uganda Ministry that enable even laymen to understand complex engineering concepts. Jon has also trained many engineers in water quality sampling, testing and analysis. I have no doubt that Jon’s engineering knowledge, skills, and leadership qualities would make him a fantastic consultant to any engineering firm or NGO in Uganda that would benefit from capacity building and professional mentorship.”
